Hydrometers for Oil and Petroleum to International Standards
These hydrometers are specifically designed for the testing of oil and petroleum products, and are made in accordance with national and international standards. They can be supplied with calibration certificates, or certificates showing traceability to national NAMAS standards.

These hydrometers are available calibrated for liquids of low surface tensions. BS 718 hydrometers in the SP series are available in ranges measuring from 0.600 to 1.100 g/ml at 15°C. They can also be made measuring g/ml at 20°C if that is required.
To specify a product use the prefix shown, followed by the start of the range. For example a 0.700/0.750 L50SP density hydrometer would be
DA3339/070.
L50SP Series (335 mm long, 0.050 range)
Density Hydrometers, scale divisions 0.0005 g/ml at 15°C. Maximum permitted error ±0.0003 g/ml.
Low ST: DA3339/
M50SP Series (270 mm long, 0.050 range)
Density Hydrometers, scale divisions 0.001 g/ml at 15°C. Maximum permitted error ±0.0006 g/ml.
Low ST: DA2746/
S50SP Series (190 mm long, 0.050 range)
Density Hydrometers, scale divisions 0.001 g/ml at 15°C. Maximum permitted error ±0.001 g/ml.
Low ST: DB2563/
Aviation Fuel Hydrometer
A special hydrometer for use with aviation fuel, covering the range 0.775-0.825 g/ml. Available in L50SP, M50SP and S50SP forms.

ASTM E100 Specific Gravity, Long Plain Form
These are 335 mm long hydrometers, with a range of 0.050 S60/60°F and 0.0005 scale divisions. Maximum permitted error ±0.0005 S60/60°F.
To specify a product use the prefix shown, followed by the ASTM hydrometer number.
Long Plain Form: DU3339/
ASTM E100 °API Gravity, Plain Form
These are hydrometers measure API Gravity for Petroleum Products.
Long hydrometers are 335 mm long, with a range of 11°API and 0.1° scale divisions. Maximum permitted error ±0.1°.
Short hydrometers are 168 mm long, with a range of 6°API and 0.1° scale divisions. Maximum permitted error ±0.2°.
